Have you heard about The Greeley Dream Team, but you aren’t quite sure of everything we do? Are you a Dream Team student or a community supporter who wants to know more? This is your one-stop shop for all your program questions.
We currently have four programs: Dream Team, K8, Platte Valley, and the Alumni Program.
The Dream Team, K8, and Platte Valley Programs provide students with the same access to the same services, just at different schools and with support provided by different funders. These students all receive access to one-on-one advising, tutoring, college & career-based field trips, educational workshops, financial aid & scholarship assistance, college admission guidance, and general academic support.
These three programs also all have similar eligibility requirements. The students must be…
-
- In grades 6 through 12
- Grades 6 through 11 for the 2023-2024 school year at Platte Valley
- A U.S. Citizen or an Eligible Non-Citizen
- Income-Eligible
- First-Generation (first in their family to earn a Bachelor’s Degree)
- In grades 6 through 12
The Dream Team Program:
The Dream Team Program is the longest-running of all four of our programs. It began with our inception in 1987. This primarily federally funded, pre-collegiate TRIO program serves low-income and first-generation students, focusing on professional relationships built between the Advisor and students to prepare them for a successful transition to a two-year college or a four-year university.

The K8 Program:
The K8 Program is the second longest-running of all four of our programs. This program began with only serving students at Bella Romero Academy and has since grown! Like the Dream Team Program, this program serves low-income and first-generation students, focusing on professional relationships built between the Advisor and students to prepare them for a successful transition to a two-year college or a four-year university. This program is funded in part federally and by Tony Grampsas Youth Services.

Dream Team at Platte Valley:
The Dream Team at Platte Valley is our newest program. Funded with support from The Weld Trust, this program mirrors our programs in Greeley-Evans School District 6 in serving low-income and first-generation students, focusing on professional relationships built between the Advisor and students to prepare them for a successful transition to a two-year college or a four-year university. The difference with this program is that it serves students in Platte Valley School District RE-7 in Kersey, Colorado!

The Alumni Program:
The Alumni Program is the next step in a Dream Team student’s educational journey to ensure post-secondary retention, college graduation, and workforce readiness. It provides comprehensive academic support to students achieving their higher education goals and assists in keeping students on track to graduate on time with a post-secondary degree.
We have two Advisors who work onsite at the University of Northern Colorado and Aims Community College, but these services are provided to support students attending all 2-year colleges and 4-year universities. PLUS, our Alumni Program supports students who enter the workforce after high school, working to help them take their next steps toward their dreams.
