Josh Bond, Community Representative

Josh Bond joined our Board of Directors in November 2021! Josh serves as the Director of Reporting for IWP Wealth at their Family Office, where he helps families understand their financial assets and put them to best use to support them for as long as possible. We are thrilled to have Josh’s insight and experience on our Board, and we are so excited that we get to introduce you to him today!

What is your favorite part of serving on the Board of Directors?

My favorite part about the privilege to serve on the Board of Directors is to be a part of the Scholarship Committee responsible for interviewing so many AMAZING students and really getting to be a part of what The Greeley Dream Team is all about.

What influenced you to serve on the Board for the Dream Team?

I was born and raised in Greeley and lived in Denver for several years to start off my career. My wife and I were lucky enough to move back to Greeley in 2020, and I’ve always wanted to be a bigger part of this community. Luckily, Elizabeth and the rest of the Board were able to provide me the opportunity to serve.

What does it mean to you (personally and/or professionally) to serve on the Board?

My grandparents, Dick and Reva Bond, have been heavily involved with the Dream Team since the organization was started, so it means a ton to me personally to be able to help this organization where I can.

What advice would you give to a Dream Team student who one day wants to work in your field?

My biggest advice to students wanting to become a part of the finance industry comes in three parts:

  1. As you go through college, relationships are of the utmost importance. I was able to get my first job through a referral through one of my professors that I had a strong personal relationship with.
  2. When you first start, don’t be above anything that your managers or company ask you to do. So often, we see young people coming into our profession with sky-high expectations and are not willing to do the grunt work. It may not be fun, but take on any task with a smile, and you will surely be recognized by decision-makers within the company.
  3. Be someone people want to work with. If people enjoy working with you and you do your job well, you will continue to get more and more responsibilities to speed up your career path.

What did you study in college?

I studied Finance and Accounting and UNC.

What inspired you to work in your field?

My dad was a banker for the majority of his career, so numbers always came easy to me. Being a part in the financial and personal success of others is an extremely rewarding career.

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

When I’m not lounging around the house watching Netflix with my wife, two dogs, and two cats, you can find me on the golf course. I absolutely love basketball; March Madness is right around the corner!
