This month’s spotlight is on Claudia! She just graduated from UNC this December after working as our intern for her last semester! We are so proud of her hard work so far, and we can’t wait to see what adventures await her next!

What are you up to now that you’ve earned your degree?

I am currently working with North Range. I plan to put my degree to practice there, working with children or in mental health to expand my knowledge and gain some great experience to move up and work with undocumented children focusing on their mental health.

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you since being out of high school?

The best thing that has happened to me since being out of school was moving to Arizona for about 2 years, as it taught me important life skills and more responsibilities.

What is one thing you want to accomplish in the next three years?

One thing I would like to accomplish in the next 3 years is obtaining a license for medical assistance and growing more within my degree.

What aspect of being in the Dream Team has stuck with you?

Something from the Dream Team that has stuck with me were the relationships I have with the advisors, which I still have to this day! They continue to push me to persevere and accomplish more of my goals.

What are your goals for the future, and what goals have you achieved?

My goals for my future are to obtain a job within the immigration system where I may help children with their mental health.

What is one of your best memories of being in the Dream Team?

One of my favorite memories of the Dream Team was the workshops. At the workshops, it gave me a chance to speak with the Advisor, and it also gave me a chance to work and connect with my peers. Because of the workshops, I have also learned more information that has been beneficial to me out in the world

What is one piece of advice you would give a Dream Team student who has just graduated high school?

Keep striving, and don’t give up. After high school, you have unlimited options that can determine your future. Take a chance because, for all you know, it can become something bigger than you ever thought! And if not, that is ok! The options are unlimited!
