It’s hard to believe that 2022 is nearly over! Just like every year, our students powered through every challenge that came their way to continue proving that they are strong, capable, and resilient. Keep reading to learn more about the incredible things that Dream Team did in 2022!

January was full of financial literacy workshops like the Bean Game! These workshops allow students, regardless of if they are in middle or high school, to learn about and understand some of the otherwise challenging topics surrounding budgeting, credit, bills, and more!

We also conducted interviews for our 2022 Dream Team Honors scholarship recipients at the end of the month!

February workshops focus on career/college preparation and goal setting. These plans were mirrored in the “I Love My Future” event held at Greeley Central High School and the “Meet Your Future Match” event at Greeley West High School. Both events allowed students to have a one-stop shop to utilize their resources and apply for everything they need to ensure they succeed in college.

Dream Team high school students also got to head to the Colorado School of Mines for a campus tour, student panel, and team-building STEM activity.

The spring semester was in full swing by March! Workshops focused on goal setting, time management, and interview preparation to help students set up for success. That’s not all we were busy with, though: our Awards Banquet honored our scholarship recipients, we held our third annual sticker contest, Dream Team students volunteered at the Weld Food Bank, and middle school students toured the Wings Over the Rockies museum!

PLUS, Andrew Holder, our Xcel Energy Representative, officially joined our Board of Directors.

Our 2022 Fairway to the Future Golf Tournament kicked off on April 30th! This event allows sponsors and golfers to come together to support Dream Team Honors Scholarships for future students!

We also held our second annual “Unspoken Tips That Every Successful Woman Knows” event with the Hispanic Women of Weld County, celebrated some of our students at UNC’s CHE reception, and held our second event to connect current MA counseling students at UNC with our alumni to help with college prep!

In June, we held our Alumni Picnic and lots of field trips! K8 students explored the YMCA, Denver Aquarium, and the Denver Art Museum. High school students headed to Colorado Mesa University for their first high school overnight since COVID!

In July, we held our School Supply Drive for Success with our awesome friends at Weld Family Clinic of Chiropractic.

We started the new semester off strong! Our Advisors decorated their offices (see those pictures on Instagram), and we took pictures on the first day of school!

When September came around, Dream Team turned 35! We celebrated this milestone at our Community of Champions … Turning Dreams into Reality Breakfast, where we honored: alumni Kianna, Paloma, and Anthony; Educator Terri Pappas; and Community Partner Xcel Energy.

The workshop theme for September was team-building: helping students connect to their peers at the start of a new year. Students at Greeley Central High School continued to build these connections as they worked together to build (and come in second place) a Scooby-Doo-themed float for the homecoming parade!

Our Board of Directors also welcomed a new Community Representative, Juanita Martinez Rocha.

The cold air didn’t slow us down! Middle school students explored Chatfield Botanic Farms and the US Olympic Museum, while high school students visited the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Student Induction/Parent Orientation events were held, which welcomed new 6th-grade students into the program and answered any questions they or their parents/guardians had. We also hosted our third event to connect current MA counseling students at UNC with our alumni to help with college prep!

November was STEM month! We finally got to take our new VR headsets for a full test drive at our schools! This allowed students to explore STEM colleges and careers at their own pace while learning all about the options ahead of them.

December isn’t over yet, but Colorado Gives Day was a success! Thanks to the generosity of our community (and YOU!), we raised over $13,000 to support student success. (By the way, there’s still time to help us reach our $20,000 goal! Head to

2022 was an incredible year! We are so grateful for all the hard work from our staff, students, donors, community, and friends. Thank you for coming along for the ride to turn dreams into reality.

Let’s make dreams a reality for even more students in 2023!
